Back in 2004 a small group of Saab enthusiasts met a pub in Gloucester, by the banks of the canal, on a warm summers evening. From that initial gathering a Saab community was borne as a social group with a love of Saabs and over the intervening years that has grown in to Great Western Saabs.
Twenty years have now passed and in celebration a special Great Western Saabs Lazy Sunday has been organised to revisit where it all started.
All are invited for a scenic road trip through the Wye Valley to The Ship Inn at Frampton on Severn on Sunday May 19th.
Meeting at the rather austere but convenient Severn View services, we will travel across the old Severn Bridge, through Chepstow, taking the Wye Valley road to Tintern, where we will stop for coffee and cake(s). Leaving there we travel north via Monmouth, across the Severn, through Gloucester arriving at The Ship Inn for Sunday lunch.
As this is a small pub, they can only accommodate up to 30 people indoors, so if you plan on joining us, please LET ME KNOW as as soon as possible - menu attached. Outside seating is available, but as always this is weather dependent.
Itinerary:
• Meet at Severn View services, M48, Junction 1, Bristol BS35 4BH for 10.30am.
• Leaving at 11am we travel to The Anchor Inn, Chapel Hill, Tintern, NP16 6TE for tea, coffee and/or cakes and enjoy views of Tintern Abbey.

Note: Free parking is available across the road and a short stroll (10 minutes) at the Wireworks car park (now open) Chepstow NP16 6TQ.
Alternatively you can park opposite the The Anchor for £5.
An opportunity to view the stunning Tintern Abbey. Leaving here we travel north through the Wye Valley, taking some direct roads, arriving at The Ship Inn, Moor St, Gloucester GL2 7LH for Sunday lunch at approx 2pm.

If you do plan on joining us, please let me know so I can forewarn the Anchor Inn and Ship Inn on expected numbers.
And as always, you can join us for all or part of the day
